Hereceived his undergraduate education at Peking University and started his graduate study in organic chemistry under the mentorship of Professor Andrei K. Yudin at the University of Toronto in 2004. Upon receiving a M.Sc. degree, he took up industrial positions and conducted drug discovery as a medicinal chemist in pharmaceutical companies. After nearly two years of doingindustrial research, he returned to the Yudin research group to continue his graduate study and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2012.
