Prof. Klaus Müllen is a globally recognized organic chemists and polymer chemist. He is a member of the National Academy Leopoldina, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Academia Europaea, associate editor of Journal of American Chemical Society, and former president of the German Chemical Society. He joined the Max Planck Society in 1989 as one of the directors of the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. His research interests range from the development of new polymer-forming reactions, including methods of organometallic chemistry, to the chemistry and physics of small molecules, graphenes, dendrimers and biosynthetic hybrids. He has published over 1848 papers in leading journals like Science, Nature, Nature Chem., Nature Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc.Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater.. He owns about 60 patents and has a h-index of 137. His publications have been cited over 100553 times.
